The Refined Humor of the golden age of Hollywood is badly in need of resurrection. Cary Grant, Bette Davis, George Saunders, were all figures who relished the ironic and stupendous silliness. Isn’t it amazing that Hollywood blossomed as an adjunct to the devastating destruction of the two world wars?
There is little lightness of being in dialogue today. Science fiction and superheroes are not as interconnecting as the frivolous lords and ladies, who always had a twinkle. As Scarlet said. “Tomorrow is another day”.
The yellow brick road is still in our hearts.
As we all live only in our own heads, which is more enlightening, to be with a partner or not? We endlessness search for a mate or someone to make us complete. For many this is extremely useful. For others in the choosing it becomes apparent, often, what is desired is not what will be achieved. To yearn for consciousness we often look to others to convince and inspire. It is a tricky slope.
