The season of the glory of the Sun. It’s hot. The Sun represents the ultimate climax of the light. The glare also foreshadows the darkness returning.
The Persian God Ahura Mazda, meaning Lord of Wisdom, was around, possibly 3500 years before Christ. He, too, had a duality in that there was Ahriman, a deity who represented the concept of evil. We are told to never lose the purity and excitement of childhood. Indeed there are moments when we can allow our enthusiasm full reign. But, children move extremely fast on all points. Physically, emotionally and their intellect. This is the time for us to allow ourselves to slow down while we are still enchanted.
