Do you remember when Time magazine asked “Is God Dead?” I think today is about this need to believe that an avatar, guru, shaman, Doctor or politician is going to tell us what to do, or how to think. There is so much screaming about fallen or dead heroes.
This month, the thoughts are surrounding diplomacy. I wonder if that is dead? Have not seen much recently. In history all courts or large groups had jokers, or those who pointed out the foibles of the prevailing leaders. Humor is a huge part of diplomacy. But even the UN tends to take itself too seriously.
