Romance and chivalry are concepts that seem antiquated. The essence of wooing is replaced by transparency of a sort of reality that is harsh and coarse. Why is this? The psychological need to regurgitate the primal fears we all have, is necessary. The cost is sweetness and purity. To be pure and/or demure is often undermined as silly, stupid or worse. Like most concepts it can only be essential for a moment. Perfection is much like this. We strive, our egos demand to be perfect. Do you stop and hear your responses to another’s pain? Is it possible to do more than offer warmth and containment?
