A holy day or holiday can mean to make whole. Other than our bodies the most complete whole we experience, is the earth. Most traditions are piggy backed on the cycles of the earth, and it's relationship to the Sun and Moon. Example, Christmas, Ramadan, Yom Kippur. As our planet gets more crowded, we need to bring awareness to the times when the seasons change and the elements that create this. The four points of the compass, north, south, east, west, correspond to the zodiac signs, Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra. The solstices and equinoxes are the turning point of these seasons, winter, summer, spring, fall. Their elements are earth, water, fire, and air.
