Easter is celebrated at the first full moon of the new year. The ancient lunar new year is the first day of Aries, or the vernal equinox. The full moon brings tides, water and blood. The symbolism is similar to the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Life after death. Jesus died and was reborn. Passover is also connected to the lunar calendar. In Hebrew it is Pesech, Old Testament, in Greek Paschal, New Testament. This first full moon after the vernal equinox brought the light of the full moon to flee Egypt.

The polarity of thinking around this time is rebirth and going to war. The moon rules our emotions and they are rarely without passion. We can get excited and hopeful about the spring, but we can also fear the change it brings.

The ancient healing method of bleeding or using leeches has found new supporters today. The cycles of healing are wonderous. How to incorporate homeopathy with antibiotics? Chemotherapy with the merits of marijuana? Surgery is outstanding to cut out cancer or mend the heart. But, one must weigh the shock to the system. The hard part is the brain resolving the two schools of thought and not throwing out the potential of the other.

The rabbit, the symbol of Easter, is very very fertile. Aries and his sword gives way to May and the romantic phallic Maypole. We do as a civilization keep on growing. Our progress sometimes dubious.

A friend DAVID HORNER wrote "The USA, formerly the great melting pot, has now become a country of causes. Every minority has its own cause...race, religion, sexuality, etc. etc. the greater good of the country has been subordinated to minority interests and little by little, we are pulling the threads out of the fabric of our country."

Every generation looks back to what seemed solid, secure and horrifying in their youth. The collective unconscious is truly humongous today. But, as an individuals ability to disseminate and find clarity, seemingly gets tenuous with age, however will we catch up?
