Easter is celebrated at the first full moon of the new year. The ancient lunar new year is the first day of Aries, or the vernal equinox. The full moon brings tides, water and blood. The symbolism is similar to the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Life after death. Jesus died and was reborn. Passover is also connected to the lunar calendar. In Hebrew it is Pesech, Old Testament, in Greek Paschal, New Testament. This first full moon after the vernal equinox brought the light of the full moon to flee Egypt.
The polarity of thinking around this time is rebirth and going to war. The moon rules our emotions and they are rarely without passion. We can get excited and hopeful about the spring, but we can also fear the change it brings.
