Nobility of Time (Noblesse du temps), by Salvador Dalí
Memories are represented by a certain time. One generation always sees things differently than another. History repeats but the style is always a bit different. Do we really know what will stand the test of time? Will Michael Jackson still have the allure that Mozart has? Is Banksy as memorable as Botticelli?
How often do we notice the wrinkles and grey hair? Isn’t it better to remember the time we had, what we believed was, never ending possibilities? Not to say, the acceptance of the cycle of life isn’t the ultimate goal.
All traditions believe we are perpetually in a holding pattern of existence. This month is influenced by the balance of all things. Notice the need for this.
Libra encourages the balance, but neglects the merging together.
Seasons are defined by the solstices and equinoxes. The cycles of the earth are the endless time keeping calendar and how we fit into the cosmos and our galaxy.
Saturn is Chronos meaning time. Saturn requires discipline and responsibility to measure time and create boundaries. On the body, it rules skin, which contains our organs, also our bones, that makes structure to maneuver through existence.
Saturday is Saturn’s day.
As children we want to be autonomous, and time moves slowly. As adults, it all speeds up.
With Saturn in Pisces we are taking a strong stand on reality over fantasy. Usually there is a perception with Saturn, that all must be contained and set in stone. In Pisces the fluidity of time is acknowledged. Water meets earth and boundaries must be established.
The ultimate quest is to embody the axiom “as above, so below”. Make two into one. The Inner union of opposites. Spirit/soul, anima/animus, sun/moon, conscious/unconscious are the things we yearn for.
